L’unico Bridal

Last month, I attended the Open House at 159 Events on Main, where I had the pleasure of meeting Jillian, the owner of L’unico Bridal. She was incredibly approachable and easy to talk with. I admire her approach of scheduling only one bridal appointment at a time, allowing her to fully dedicate her attention to each client and their unique vision for the special day. Her passion is truly evident from the moment you meet her. I believe you'll thoroughly enjoy learning more about her.

  1. How did you get your start in the hospitality business?

I always worked in the service/hospitality business.  I practiced commercial interior design for 12 years before leaving that career to open up my bridal shop. I feel that even in that career I was providing a service and an experience.

  2. Where does the name “L’unico” come from?

L’unico means the only one is Italian.  My intention with the name is there is “one bride, one spouse and one dress”.

  3. What is your favorite bridal fashion trend for 2025?

Lace!!  I love that lace is elegant, timeless and basically the epitome of bridal.  It has to been done right though, beautiful lace can come in the form of sleeves, bolero or on a cathedral veil.  The idea of a full Chantilly lace dress is not for every bride, but adding lace details to a simple satin dress is so beautiful!

  4. What do you find most rewarding about your job?

The wedding dress shopping part of wedding plan is a step that brides, moms, grandmas and friends dream about.  It is truly such an honor to be a part of that moment and to help celebrate it.

  5. What’s the best advice for a bride when she begins shopping for her wedding dress?

Go in with an open mind.  You can use images and Pinterest to help as a starting point, but do not be too hung up on wanting those dresses.  When you start to try dresses on, there may be something that your bridal stylist pulled that is different than what you think you pictured yourself wearing. Try it!

  6. If you could go back, what advice would you give yourself at the beginning of your business journey?

Step back and enjoy the moment(s).
